  Siya and Alec held their wedding celebrations in two amazing locations – the Meliá Desert Palm Hotel, and the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah. The gorgeous and tasteful decor was done by the amazing team at Baqaa Glamour Weddings & Events .

Siya and Alec met during their senior year in college, at a mutual friend’s house. From there, their blossoming love story began.

Imprint: How did Alec propose to you?

Siya: Alec proposed to me at At.Mosphere in Burj Khalifa during dinner with my family. He’d been planning this for months with my family!

I: How did you guys know you were the one for each other?

S: The more we got to know each other and learned about our similar values when it comes to family, that’s when we realized we were perfect for each other!

I: How did you come up with the theme for the events?

S: My mom worked with our planner. We knew we really wanted a colourful theme with tons of flowers!

I: What was the most memorable part of the wedding for you?

S: I think it would be seeing family and friends after years! We danced so much and everybody had a lot of fun. Seeing everybody so happy was definitely the highlight!

I: Tell us about your go-to person for the wedding.

S: My mom! From organizing, to making sure everything and everyone was taken care of, she is such an amazing planner, person, and mom. Not only did she execute the perfect wedding, but she also made sure everyone was comfortable and had a lot of fun!

I: If you had to freeze a frame or scene from your wedding, what moment would it be?

S: There’s so many to choose from! I think everyone dancing during the mehendi, and Alec on the horse during the baraat, if I had to choose.

I: What thoughts did you have while getting ready for your wedding?

S: Just that I was really excited to celebrate with all my family and friends, and especially dress up in my gorgeous outfits! Oh, and I also hoped I wouldn’t ugly cry.

I: Any advice for couples getting married?

S: No argument is worth going to bed angry for. Enjoy life, and go with the flow!
