Imprint: How did you guys meet?
Divya: We went to the same university together and met a couple of times there, but really hung out and got to know each other later on in 2017 through our common best friend. We enjoyed each other’s company, which led to super long conversations whenever we would meet and hang out
.
I: How did you come up with the theme for the events?
D: We had certain colours and always wanted to go boho! But the rest just came in while we brainstormed very easily. We agreed on many things together, so it honestly was super easy with the planning. Aritra is super easy going, and our likes are also quite similar!
I: What was your favourite photo from the wedding?
D: This:
I: What was the most memorable part of the wedding for you?
D: The dance and the pheras! I cannot believe we danced, and to see Aritra dancing to perfection was the best part of it. The pheras were super sweet. They were Bengali style and I absolutely loved the whole tradition and could feel everyone’s love just pouring in. It was truly a special moment
.
I: If you had to freeze a frame or scene from your wedding, what moment would it be?
D: The moment when the priest was asking us to make certain promises to each other, as per the old customs, and Aritra making me laugh with his comments.
I: Tell us about your go-to person for the wedding.
D: Sachin! He was amazing! Anything we needed, he would have it or make it available at any moment! He went above and beyond for our wedding to make it so awesome.
I: What were your thoughts during your getting ready?
D: I can’t believe what we wanted is happening. We had gotten our court marriage done in 2020 in India and Aritra’s family missed our wedding. We wanted to have another wedding with everyone involved, and even though we’re not big on the religious part of it, we just thought it would be nice to celebrate this joyous moment together. So, when Aritra’s folks arranged for the wedding, it was everything and more that we wanted. Dreams do come true!
I: Any advice for couples getting married?
D: No one is perfect and no one ever will be. Accepting yourself will help you accept another and will help you sail through any and every curve ball that life may throw your way! Love from your heart and you will never ever go wrong!
